Phils lock up Lidge

The Phillies sign Brad Lidge to a 3 year 37.5 Million dollar contract.  Brad Lidge has been an injury risk but the move could pay big dividends as Lidge has been the most dominate strikeout pitcher in the major leagues the last five years. It is obvious Brett Myers will have to be traded to a team that can use a closer but The Phils owe him 12 Million dollars and his BLOATED ERA is a big problem. Still Myers is able to pump his fastball to 97 MPH for one inning and mix three other pitches into the fold. The Phils should eat part of his contract and try to add a starter or bolster their thin farm system.
